BID Bayerischer Inkasso Dienst GmbH receives Employer of the Future award
The Employer of the Future award is "like a medal, in sports", says Marc Wittbrock, Managing Director at the German Innovation Institute for Sustainability and Digitalisation (DIND). The institute, based in Hamburg, presents the Employer of the Future award annually to companies that demonstrate particular excellence in dealing with their employees.
As of this year, BID Bayerischer Inkasso Dienst GmbH is now one of the organisations that may adorn themselves with this special seal. Managing Directors Frank Fenske and Markus Kolbinger accepted the award from Brigitte Zypries. The former Federal Minister of Economics is the patron of the employers' initiative. "We didn't expect to be nominated at all," says Frank Fenske, "but we were able to convince the judges in the subsequent evaluation. The award is a remarkable appreciation and confirmation of our many efforts to be a top employer for our employees."
Five criteria are assessed for the Employer of the Future seal: modern leadership, innovative strength, status of digital transformation, employee friendliness, and recruiting strategies.
"For BID Bayerischer Inkasso Dienst GmbH, people are at the centre of everything we do," says Markus Kolbinger. A claim that is lived, the motto at BID is: "Family first." Likewise, flexible working hours were introduced at an early stage, home office options are offered, and employees are also supported in setting up the necessary digital infrastructure. Height-adjustable desks are standard in the offices, and many redundant processes in the administration and management of the collection company are automated, which spares employees monotonous work, freeing up time to devote to challenging tasks. Fresh vegetables from the garden on the company's premises are also popular among the staff.
Communication at eye level
"It is important for our initiatives to develop them in dialogue with our employees," says Frank Fenske. As Managing Director, he reports weekly, in an in-house message, on current topics in corporate development, answers questions, and encourages employees to get involved in the various topics. "For example, many of our activities that support greater sustainability are based on suggestions and ideas presented by our employees."
Frank Fenske speaks of the responsibility as an employer to take the concerns and ideas of employees seriously. "We respond to the needs of our employees, communicate at eye level and, as a result, get back what is most valuable: commitment and enjoyment at work."
